コスタリカに年間13億本のカット苗を生産する強大な農場があるとオランダ人から聞かされた。コスタリカと言えば確かボールのカット苗生産農場があるところだがどうも別らしい。ダンジガーのカット苗の委託先も確かコスタリカだったはず。
　中米（コスタリカ）からのカットはヘデラ、トレニア初め多くがあげられるがどうしてコスタリカなのか。少し調べてみるとやはり周年生産できる高地と物流体制のようだと解ってきた。
　私が農場を構えるのはエクアドルの標高3000mのカヤンベだが少しここより暖かく日長変化がある。
　もちろんエクアドルは赤道直下なので車で30分走れば3度平均気温が上がる。好きな気候を選べるのが最大の魅力だがコスタリカに集中する理由が知りたい。
